Hello there, and welcome to my blog!

Improving your communication skills is one investment that will always yield favourable returns for your business and your career. This blog offers free, practical insights drawn from over a decade of research, lecturing, coaching, executive education, and the development of communication frameworks used by professionals and leaders. Sit back, enjoy the content, and bring along some friends.

If it’s your first time here, you’ll find the most popular articles listed on the homepage. The list is refreshed regularly, so you’d be spoilt for choice. As a ‘regular’, you know that I provide valuable insights on business communication and show you how to use effective communication to succeed in your career or business.

My background and experience

I’m an international award-winning communications trainer and the bestselling author of Influence and Thrive. I’m also the innovator behind the Global 4-Domain Communication Skills Rating Tool™ — the world’s first culturally intelligent communication assessment spanning four critical domains. Many of the ideas first explored on this blog have since evolved into my book, executive programmes, communication frameworks, and the assessment methodologies that underpin my work today. Regular readers may have noticed this natural evolution.

Specialising in effective communication, I help professionals, executives, entrepreneurs, and business leaders sharpen their communication skills to amplify their influence and thrive in their fields. I’ve been blogging about business communication and management issues for over 14 years. Therefore, I bring my blogging experience, coaching techniques, and training expertise to deliver business communication training and advisory services to individuals and corporate clients.

I hold two degrees from UK universities. And in May 2020, my alma mater, the London School of Economics & Political Science, did a very cool thing: They named me Alum of the Month’ for my profile and impact. In 2021, the University of Leicester featured my book and highlighted my work in its alumni #CitizensOfChange initiative.

As the founder and chief communications trainer at Rethinking Business Communications Limited, I offer online training, in-person programmes, and advisory services in nonverbal communication, public speaking, business writing, interpersonal communication, and leadership communication and influence.

For my programmes, I draw on my significant experience facilitating lectures and executive seminars, with ratings as high as 4.9/5 at the prestigious, globally ranked Lagos Business School (ranked #1 in Africa for custom education in 2026 by the Financial Times Executive Education rankings). My clients include World Commerce & Contracting, the Nigeria Stock Exchange, Nestlé Nigeria, the Society of Petroleum Engineers (Lagos Chapter), and Ischus Consulting.

As you know, I’m the writer and editor of this multi-award-winning blog, where I provide deep insights and practical techniques for effective communication. My recommendations will help you thrive in your career or business. In addition to other awards, this blog is the only website from Africa to feature among the top 40 on Feedspot’s authoritative list of the Top Communication Blogs, Websites, & Influencers.

I’m grateful that my expertise is globally recognised. In 2026, Global Gurus, the renowned research organisation, ranked me as the #10 communication professional in the world. I was the only Black professional featured in the highly competitive communication category.

I love collaborations! I’m also honoured to be represented by Dubai Keynote Speakers, AAE, A-Speakers, and Africa Speakers Group bureaus, where I look forward to delivering keynotes on effective business communication, so book me!

What I love to do in my spare time

I’m a simple lady at heart. Therefore, when I’m not obsessing about effective communication, I unwind by watching television. I’m a huge fan of detective programmes and fancy myself an expert in identifying the culprits. I also enjoy watching thrillers, (meaningful) action flicks, and dramas.

I have a sweet tooth and love wine gums (for my US connections, the closest equivalent is gummy bears), chocolate, and ice cream. My late dad used to call me the ‘cheese monster’ when I was younger because of my love for cheddar cheese, and that love hasn’t diminished in adulthood.  Just so you know how to get in my good graces.
